Wasatch Crest Trail | Mountain Bike Ride

The Wasatch Crest Trail is one of the most epic trails I've ever ridden. A true classic ride in Northern Utah that everyone must do at least once in their life. All of which I did not know prior to riding it. A buddy of mine I had met on a MeetUp ride in Little Cottonwood Canyon asked me if I wanted to shuttle Wasatch Crest one night last week. I said "Sure, sounds like a blast!" But I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Silly me, thought a shuttle ride was just taking a shuttle van up to the top of one of the canyons and then we'd downhill back to the bottom of the canyon. Little did I know I was signing up for a 25 mile ride that would take us from the to of Guardsman Pass in Big Cottonwood Canyon, across the Wasatch front, and down into Millcreek Canyon. The ride boasts views of the lush green canyons to the west, and the sprawling real-estate that is Park City Resort to the east. And as for the downhill-ing, there was plenty of that. But you still had to earn it on some of the infamous climbs like "Puke Hill". Needless to say, it was one of the most enjoyable, challenging, epic, scenic, and awesome mountain bike rides I'd ever done.

We used Big Rack Shuttle to take us from Skyline High School, which sits at the mouth of Millcreek Canyon, up thru Big Cottonwood Canyon to Guardsman pass. From there, you can hop on the Wasatch Crest trail and ride all the way back to your car. I highly recommend their service. They were super friendly, very knowledgeable, and they even provided snacks on the way up for all 13 of us riders in the van.
