Trip Photos | Kanab, Utah

During the Covid-19 shutdown & quarantine, few places in Utah were still open for out-of-county visitors. In late April, we got lucky, and the county Kanab is located in opened up its doors for visitors to come camp and hike arounds its incredible landscape. We loved it so much, that we brought our friends back down the following weekend. But it’s mostly due to the fact that we found the ultimate campsite right on the East Fork of the Virgin River.

First Trip to Kanab

Courtney and I explored Huntress Wash Slot Canyon, spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out by the river that ran through camp. The following day, we wandered through the Dragon’s Belly cave.

Second Trip to Kanab

On our second trip down to Kanab, we convinced our friends to join. Under a starry night, we all camped next to the same river as the weekend before. The following morning, all of us with the three doggos, headed across the desert to explore peak-a-boo canyon. We’d been there once before and knew it’d delight the crew. It was a hot one but totally worth it. The next day we went back to show our friends Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park.

Kanab is an incredible place to visit and explore. Sure, it’s not nearly as recreationally developed as Moab, St. George, or Escalante, but it has it’s own adventures waiting to be discovered by you!
