Planing Your Trip to the West End of Roatan, Honduras

If you tell someone you’re headed to Roatan, blank stares and a questioning look are sure to be the immediate response. This little island off the north coast of Honduras in the turquoise Caribbean waters has not found itself on many tourists bucket lists… yet. Roatan has been a scuba divers destination since the early 90s, with more dive sites within 100 yds of the island’s shoreline than I’ve seen anywhere in the world. Lucky for me, my wife, Courtney, had always knew about this little slice of paradise and we planed our diving trip here for 2025! West Bay …

Review: Olympus TG-7  Dive Camera + SeaFrogs Housing // SCUBA Diving Photography

After 8 years of trying to capture videos of the underwater world with various GoPros, I finally made the upgrade to a proper underwater camera! The OLYMPUS TG- 7 Series of waterproof cameras by Olympus, paired with the SeaFrogs Housing, seems to be the place most people start. Little did I know, after the sun set below the horizon, the dive briefing talked about the potential to see an octopus, an anemone hunting, lobsters out crawling around, but best of all, the string of pearls. All 8 of us divers were absolutely buzzing and couldn’t …

El Aguila | Diving My First Shipwreck Dive going below 100ft

So far, in my short diving career, I’ve had some amazing experiences. From the massive sea turtles in Hawaii to the underwater aquarium that is Richelieu Rock in Thailand. But there was one dive I still haven’t had the opportunity to swim down, and that was a shipwreck, even though Courtney has had many experiences on shipwrecks. The idea of diving on the sunken remains of an engineering marvel that has taken on a new life as an artificial reef was so exciting to me. It was a no-brainer when we reached out to Native Sons dive shop on Roatan …
