Finishing The Appalachian Trail [Pictures]

My friend, Christian, accomplished a dream of his, which was to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail. We were lucky enough to share that moment with him at the finish of the trail, on the summit of Mount Katahdin. The Appalachian Trail begins at Springer Mountain, Georgia, travels 2,198 miles to the summit of Mount Katahdin, Maine. It passes through 14 states: Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Hike Mount Katahdin

Every year in the fall, a group of friends get together to hike up a mountain in New England. In the past, it’s been Mount Washington, up in New Hampshire. This year, the seven of us made the trek up north to Baxter State Park in Millinocket, Maine. Eight hours in the car later, we made it to the Katahdin Stream Campground. Exhausting Weekend in Acadia & Bar Harbor, Maine

The part of Maine on everyone’s Bucket List, Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park. A place famous for fresh lobster rolls caught locally and a beautiful landscape that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. Only a seven hour drive and 1 quick stop for dinner, at Liquid Riot Bottle Co in Portland, we finally arrived at our KOA campground around midnight.
