Full MOAB Adventure Weekend | Climb/Bike/SUP/Camp

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve loaded up the truck for a weekend trip with excess gear in hopes that we’d get to use it. You know, toss the climbing gear in, just in case we have time to send a route or two. Or the cumbersome addition of the bike on the rack, only to run out out of time and not get to use it. Well this past weekend wasn’t one of those times. Just like so many of those other trips, I loaded up the truck with all the gear to have an epic weekend, …

I Won! Outside TV Video of the Month

At some point over the summer I found out Outside TV was creating their own content platform, similar to YouTube, called Outside TV Campfire. You upload your videos from your adventures to share with others who have epic adventures. Each month there’s a contest for the best videos. They pick a video each week to be the video of the week for a prize, and then one video gets picked each month to be the video of the month for a grand prize! And guess what?  I won for the video of the month October 2018.  I still can’t believe …

Top Notch Triathlon: Utah Style

5,495ft of vertical gain separates the starting line from the finish of this triathlon. It’s not your typical race, nor is it even an official event. At least, it wasn’t until August 5, 2018, because three brave souls took this challenge on with only a few days notice and they absolutely crushed it. So what exactly is the Top Notch Triathlon-Utah Version? It all started back in 2014 when my new roommates at the time invited me to compete in an annual team triathlon that raced up Cannon Mountain in New Hampshire on the first weekend in August. I took …

Rain | A Bike Touring Adventure [VIDEO]

The White Mountains Bike Tour Story There came a point, some time last year, when I no longer wanted to just read about those epic adventures that I kept seeing all over the internet. But I couldn’t quit my job and just go backpacking in the mountains for a month, or ride my bike across the country. What was I going to do? All I knew was that I wanted to push my limits, both physically and mentally. After throwing around some ideas, that definitely involved a bike, I settled on the most ridiculous thing I could think of at …

Wasatch Crest Trail | Mountain Bike Ride

The Wasatch Crest Trail is one of the most epic trails I’ve ever ridden. A true classic ride in Northern Utah that everyone must do at least once in their life. All of which I did not know prior to riding it. A buddy of mine I had met on a MeetUp ride in Little Cottonwood Canyon asked me if I wanted to shuttle Wasatch Crest one night last week. I said “Sure, sounds like a blast!” But I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Silly me, thought a shuttle ride was just taking a shuttle van …

White Mountains Bike Touring | Trip Report (3/4)

Day 2 | White Mountains Bike Tour Waking up without an alarm is always the best part about camping. Unfortunately, I forgot that  I wasn’t on a camping trip and that I still had almost 90 miles left to ride on the bike tour. Ahead of us, was still a long climb up to Pinkham Notch where we’d try to hike up to Mount Washington, a hike people usually take their entire day to complete. But we didn’t have an entire day to dedicate to the hike, but instead it was only going to be a small part of a very long …

White Mountains Bike Touring | Trip Report (2/4)

Day 1 | White Mountains Bike Tour We started the morning off by rolling out of our hammocks we slept in the night before, headed back down the trail to the Franconia Notch Trailhead Parking lot where we would get our bikes ready for the tour. I made Eddie and I both a couple of bland breakfast burritos to eat. We stuffed all our belongings into the saddle bags and strapped everything to our bikes. I made sure to put all my candy and granola bars in my frame bag for easy access on the ride. It wasn’t raining yet, which …

White Mountains Bike Touring | Trip Report (1/4)

The Idea | White Mountains Bike Tour There came a point, some time last year in 2017, when I no longer wanted to just read  about those epic adventures and sufferfests that I kept seeing all over the internet. But I couldn’t quit my job and just go backpacking in the mountains for a month, or ride my bike across the country. Even though I would love to. What was I going to do? All I knew was that I wanted to push my limits, both physically and mentally.  After throwing around some ideas  that definitely involved a bike, I settled on …

Feiyu Tech 3-Axis Wearable Gimbal Stabilizer | Mountain Bike Review & Unboxing

After getting a few rides in with this Gimbal, I sat down to review the pros & cons of the Feiyu Tech FY-WG 3-Axis Wearable Gimbal Stabilizer for Gopro HERO 4, 3+ and 3. It is an absolutely incredible & necessary piece of filming equipment for those looking to get solid footy from their rides out on the trails and beyond. First off, the gimbal does exactly what is expected of it. It keeps all the footy buttery smooth no matter if you are turning hard into berms, flying off jumps, crushing rock gardens, or what ever the trail could …

The Foster 100 | Sponsoring Service Dogs for Veterans

Each September, for the past 3 years now, a group of cyclists have come together to ride their bicycles 100 miles from Philadelphia, PA to Cape May, NJ for the annual Foster 100. Grinding out 100 miles on a bike is very very tough, but it is far from the difficulties our veterans face in combat when serving our country. These struggles can even become even more difficult when they return home. Which is why Team Foster is sponsoring service dogs to partner veterans suffering from combat-related disabilities including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). My brother-in-law, Nick Liermann and …
