The Azores have been described as Europe’s version of Hawaii. After a week on the main Azores island of Sao Miguel, it’s not only hard to compare the Azores and Hawaii, but painful to admit that I think I liked the Azores nearly just as much! The days were filled hiking around the mountains, relaxing in hot spring pools, staring off at the endless viewpoints on the coastline, and eating some of the best seafood.
