Full MOAB Adventure Weekend | Climb/Bike/SUP/Camp

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve loaded up the truck for a weekend trip with excess gear in hopes that we’d get to use it. You know, toss the climbing gear in, just in case we have time to send a route or two. Or the cumbersome addition of the bike on the rack, only to run out out of time and not get to use it. Well this past weekend wasn’t one of those times. Just like so many of those other trips, I loaded up the truck with all the gear to have an epic weekend, …

One Year Older | A Desert Birthday Adventure [Video]

My girlfriend is the most amazing person. She’s always gone over the top to make my birthday special. So this year, I decided to make her birthday one she’ll never forget. I convinced 2 of our friends to join us down in the desert where we’d camp, hike, and ride a Polaris RzR around the Moab off-roading trails! The cold winter weather threatened our plans, with overnight temps in the teens. It was going to be a wild weekend, and that doesn’t even begin to capture how wild the RzR was!

Explore Yant Flat (Candy Cliffs Utah)

Southern Utah is known for its incredible sandstone rock formations. Take Zion and Arches for example, known around the world for their iconic viewpoints and hikes. But with that notoriety comes an endless stream of crowds and lines; not to mention park fees and permits. What if I told you there was another place, equally as stunning, that you could have all to yourself. And plus, you’re allowed to bring your dog with you! Well guess what, that place not only exists, but we just spent the weekend there and it was jaw dropping. The place I’m referring to is …

Sand Mountain | Little Sahara Adventures

The mountains of Utah are incredible. From the red cliffs of Moab, to the snow capped peaks in the Cottonwoods, they all offer some thing uniquely different to everyone. But when I came out to Salt Lake to visit my friend Luke last November, we took a spontaneous trip to somewhere neither of us had been before. That trip lead us down desert roads to probably one of the smallest mountain ranges in Utah. I’m talking about Sand Mountain, located in the Little Sahara Recreation Area. Getting here wasn’t difficult, but it was different. Hopping off the highways and onto …

Cassidy Arch | Capitol Reef National Park

Capitol Reef, the least known, and visited, National Park in Utah. But it is a hidden gem. Which is quite a strange label since it is a national park. And in that park, after a long drive on a dirt road, you reach the Cassidy Arch trailhead. Though it is no Delicate Arch, Mesa Arch, or Corona Arch, the Cassidy Arch is just as incredible as the rest. Yet, I had never heard of it either until we checked out the map we were given at the Visitor Center. So don’t worry, you’re not alone. Court and I planned to …

Guide to Utah’s Geographical Jargon

I grew up a flatlander in New Jersey, where describing a geographical feature would be limited to the following: street, hill, woods, or the beach. Since then, I’ve been exposed to what people would consider real, mountainous terrain in New England. Up there, we’d throw around terms like: Mountain, Summit, Ridge, Lake, and Elevation. All of which are pretty self explanatory and not too hard to follow along with in a conversation. But here in Utah, that list of geographical jargon has grown by 100x. And I’ll be honest most of the time I have no idea how to describe …

Angels Landing Trail | Zion National Park

Thousand foot drops offs on either side of the 2 foot wide, sandstone trail. For a half-mile, you have to try your hardest not to look down as you hike along the hog’s back ridgeline. The only thing that keeps you from tumbling over the edge are the intermittent chains that are drilled into the rock. But if you make it to the end, you will be shown a view of the Zion Valley below that you’ll never forget. Zachary Kenney Hi there, my name is Zachary Kenney and I’m an adventure filmmaker & photographer.  My passion is to tell …
