From Camping to a Cabin on a Lake | Loen, Norway

“Where the hell are we going to sleep tonight?” I remember thinking to myself as we leaned against the rental car. We had come all the way to Norway and we’re now standing in the parking lot of a campground that overlooked the most incredible lake I’d ever seen, but I was far from stoked. My girlfriend and I were roads tripping through Norway and planned to camp on the shoreline of this glacial-fed lake in Loen, but things started to not go as planned along the way. The trip had been going well, until the weather took a turn …

Norway | Seeking Wanderlust [Video]

Discovering Norway for ourselves on a road trip through the mountains. Every place we passed through was more beautiful than the last. Mountains and Fjords that captured the imagination whether from the roadside or on top of a summit. This place was truly made for those looking to fill their sense of wonder. The trip took us through Alesund, Andalsnes, Loen, Flam, and Bergen. We both have been to Iceland, and this place is far better.   Zachary KenneyHi there, my name is Zachary Kenney and I’m an adventure filmmaker & photographer.  My passion is to tell stories that will …

Hiking through Åndalsnes, Norway

The moment we emerged from the last tunnel, and our eyes adjusted to the light, I knew we had picked a great town to stay in. A huge mountain range that pierced into the clouds, dropped off into the fjord where the town of Åndalsnes stood. For two days, my girlfriend Courtney and I stayed in a cabin at a campground with the intent of seeing and doing as much as possible while in Åndalsnes. All around us towered an incredible, vast landscape of snow capped mountains, views of a serpentine river, and the endless expanse of the fjord.  It was only …

Utah Bound | Why We Moved to SLC

“Let’s just drop everything and move out West.” At one one point, all of us have had the dream to pack up everything we own in a UHaul and just drive westward into the sunset. Just drive to the place we’ve been brainwashed to believe is better than the east coast. Wether it be the laid-back lifestyle in California or the endless adventures you see on your friends’ Instagram out in Colorado. The how or why doesn’t really matter, just that is possible for anyone to go West. And at some point in the end of 2016, my girlfriend Court …

Essentials for Backpacking Europe | What You Need

You’ve got your plane tickets purchased and maybe you’ve even convinced some of your friends to come with you to Europe, but now you need to figure out what to bring. There are millions of options out there, but here is my take on the essentials you’ll need to be able to efficiently navigate and backpack through most European countries.  Gear: All the stuff you’ll need to be ready for everything to Backpack (no suitcases obviously) A backpack is probably a key essential to actually backpack through Europe. It gives you the opportunity to still walk around with all your …

Tips to Make Better Videos: Telling a Story vs Video-porn

One of the first questions you have to ask before you begin editing any clips, or even before you press record on your camera, is, “What type of video do I want to make?” I don’t mean the infinite cinematic-subcategories that are out there, but just these two types instead: are you going to tell a story to an audience or just make a video-porn/music video style video. Zachary KenneyHi there, my name is Zachary Kenney and I’m an adventure filmmaker & photographer.  My passion is to tell stories that will hopefully motivate you to go live a more adventurous …

Top Things to Know Before Your Costa Rica Trip

1. Not All Roads are Equal Even in the remote corners of the states, we still have access to paved roads. Down in Costa Rica, however; it is quite the opposite. Sure the main tourist routes from the airports to the “big named” destinations have quality roads & highways with speed limits up to 50mph, but the excitement begins as soon as you find yourself, even remotely, off the beaten path. For instance, if you aren’t planning to spend your time by the “metropolis” beach town of Tamarindo, nearly every other town’s roads are exclusively dirt and riddled with large …

Norway is better than Iceland

This is not click-bait, as much as it pains me to write that anywhere on this Earth better than Iceland, Norway has topped the list! In 2016, my 3 friends and I took a road trip around Iceland, from Rif through Reykjavik and past Vik into Hof. We hiked, explored, partied, and soaked in all the beauty that the country could offer. It was truly a trip of a lifetime that I never thought could be surpassed. However, a trip to Norway in 2017 with my girlfriend sought to take the top spot on my list. We also took a …

Salt Lake City, Utah [Video]

Spontaneous trip to visit some friends turned out to be a trip that far exceeded any expectations I had for Salt Lake. This place is out of an outdoorsman’s best dream. From the moment you fly into SLC, you notice all the incredible mountains that tower over the city.  Everything is shockingly close, which makes access to the mountains and all the its fun just 100x better. We were able to check out the Mormon Temple, the city at sunset, the Midway ice castles, snow shoeing near Layton, the beaches of the Great Salt Lake, and of course the endless …

Maps.Me (My favorite Travel App)

Whether you are walking the mysterious alleyways of Amsterdam, hiking in the backcountry of New Hampshire, or just looking for an ATM in your hometown, there is one App you probably never heard of that can solve all these problems. And that app is Maps.Me. I’m not being promoted to talk about this app, but I truly believe it is the best app that any traveler could have on their phone. Maps.Me is the most detailed map that you will ever have in your pocket, and I’ve personally used it exploring cities in over 6 countries, on top of mountains, and …
