Slickrock Mountain Bike Trail | Moab, UT

Some classic mountain bike trails fall short of the hype, but when it came to the Slickrock trail in Moab, UT, it far exceeded the expectations. Ever since I heard about this trail, it’s been on my bucket list. For some reason though, every time I go riding in the desert, we end up on another epic trail. So after two years of living in Utah, I finally got my tires on the infamous Slickrock trail. And let me tell you, it was an epic ride!  The trailhead is located 3 miles West of town, in the Sand Flats Recreation …

Mountain Biking Fruita, Colorado with Gregor the Trail Dog

When it comes to mountain biking, there’s simply no bad days. Whether it’s a cruiser lap on the local trails, or an all out sufferfest that takes all day. Mountain biking is amazing. Yet, there are some rides that I’ll never forget. And a Saturday spent riding in Colorado with my fiancé, Courtney, and our trail dog, Gregor will be one of those best rides of my life. The ride was nothing out of this world, a simple, yet challenging loop at 18 Road trail system north of Fruita, Colorado. We rode from our campsite, up to the forest road …

Zebra Slot Canyon

Squeezing through a slot canyon that was so tight, I honestly wasn’t sure if I’d ever reach the end. With my feet wedged into the narrowest section on the bottom of the canyon, shimmying myself along the wall, my hips would go no further. I was stuck… Zachary KenneyHi there, my name is Zachary Kenney and I’m an adventure filmmaker & photographer.  My passion is to tell stories that will hopefully motivate you to go live a more adventurous life. Our Desert Engagement | Ding & Dang Canyon

To say that I was nervous might be the understatement of the century. I couldn’t sleep the night before and my hands were shaking the entire hike leading up to the moment. Little did I know that the hard part wasn’t going to be asking Courtney to marry me, rather the descent through Dang Canyon turned out to be 10x more difficult. All said and done, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Exploring Utah’s Ancient Cliff Dwellings and Ruins in Bears Ears

The people that walked these lands before us, have a history that most of us do not know about. As early as 13,000 years ago, the Clovis people hunted in the Cedar Mesa. After them, the Ancestral Puebloans came into the picture 2,500 years ago. These people occupied these desert landscapes up until the mid 1200s when nearly all of them disappeared from the San Juan Region and settled elsewhere in the Southwest. They left behind the pots and baskets they created, along with their homes built into the cliffs that scatter across the desert canyons. This is the reason …

Wilson Arch | Bucket List Shot

There are only a handful of photographs that I regret not taking. Whether it’s because I was too tired to hike up an adjacent peak to get a better view of the landscape, or I was just too lazy to bring my camera out and make the stop for a photo. Well this shot falls into the ladder category. And I remember the day, I didn’t take the shot, like it was yesterday. Courtney and I were moving out west to Utah, and were just about to reach the town of Moab, when we saw the first arch of our …

Little Wild Horse Slot Canyon

Little Wild Horse Canyon is an awesome slot canyon, and one I can’t recommend enough to anyone looking to hike their first slot canyon. Located just outside of Goblin Valley State Park in the South-Central region of Utah’s desert, it’s only a 4hr drive from Salt Lake City and 2hrs from Moab. The canyon itself is stunningly beautiful, with eroded sandstone walls that you could spend a lifetime exploring. The best part about this experience, is that it isn’t a technical route. That means, no ropes (or canyoneering experience) is required. Simply lace up those hiking boots and follow the …
