The Jump from Climbing Gym to Outdoor Crag

Picture yourself climbing up the third pitch of a massive rock face that overlooks the valley floor below as the sun is setting on your back during a late summer climbing trip with your friends. Or at least that’s what Instagram has implanted in your mind of what climbing is, and you are ready to take the plunge from the gym into the big-time world of climbing outdoors. Assuming you’re like most climbers, you started in the exciting, yet controlled environment of a climbing gym close to your house. You’ve finally gained the confidence on all the 5.10s the gym …

Hiking the Stratton Pond Loop [Video]

An overnight hiking trip that took us into the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont where the Appalachian Trail meets up with the Long Trail. This loop takes you up to the summit of Stratton Mountain and ends by a pristine lake at the base on the back side. Lakeside camping is the gem of this route. Bluebird day for the entire hike and couldn’t ask for more than pepperoni over the fire… am I right?!

Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain| My Story

After 1 flight, 2 trains, 1 bus, and one exhausting trek through the streets, we finally reached the city we crossed an entire ocean for… Pamplona. A trip that all began with the backhanded suggestion that we should go run with the bulls. Now fast forward 5 months and some heavy convincing of a few friends; there were the seven of us, dressed in white, running for our lives down the cobblestone streets of Pamplona as half-ton beasts trailed only inches behind us. As my mind raced furiously before the Bulls were released, my head was completely clear of thoughts …

Preakness Infieldfest – Chainsmokers

It’s that time of year again… when all my friends and I pile into one hotel room for a epic weekend in the great city of Baltimore, MD. This year’s Preakness was headlined by the Chainsmokers and the rain didn’t hold them back. And for the second time now, they’ve put on the most epic show. Over 2,000 kegs were ordered this year for the event and I doubt a single one left without being kicked. Oh… And there was a horse race, which was pretty sweet too.

Top 10: Things I wish I knew before Iceland

#1 Go hike whatever you want For some reason, I expected to find hiking trails and parks all over the country; however, that was not the case. In a nutshell, you can pull your car over wherever and just go hike any of the hills and mountains you want. You’ll find that most of the fields next to the road have fences preventing an easy access, but they’re short. So hop on over and go have yourself an adventure. #2 Don’t follow the speed limit Anywhere outside the Reykjavik city limits, you will find yourself driving from one small town …

Flying WOWair to Iceland… Epic Deal

I cannot even begin to thank WOW air enough and state that they are sole reason I was able to, not only go on an adventure of a lifetime, but also bring 3 of my friends with me. WOW air is a budget airline, similar to RyanAir, easyJet, and Spirit Airlines. They are a no-frills, no-extras provider that, luckily with great timing, ran deals from Boston or DC to Keflavik, Iceland that started around $325 for a round trip flight. Yes, that is right, we could fly round trip to Europe, cheaper than flights inside the USA. At a price …

Imagine you are floating through a crack in the earth between two continental plates that is filled with crystal clear water, and the rocky surface below you is covered in the most incredible shades of blues and greens that you could ever imagined. You’d think this only exists in a dream right? Wrong. It is located in Iceland’s Thingvellir National Park in the Silfra fissure. The Silfra fissure is a crack between the two continental plates of North America and Eurasia. More importantly is the crystal clear water that fills the fissure, and the lake, have come from the glaciers …
