Cat’s Hostel in Madrid, Spain for Backpackers

Cat’s Hostel Madrid was my first and favorite hostel I’ve been to. From the moment I walked in, until the moment I walked out it was an incredible experience. We made our way out of the Anton Martin metro stop and a block away on a side street was a little sign that just said Cat’s. We were immediately greeted by a drunken Aussie who asked us if we wanted to grab a drink with him… It was 11am. After filling out all the paperwork, in the bar, that’s attached to the hostel love, while sitting on fresh kegs, we …

TomorrowWorld Music Festival

Tomorrowworld, rated as one of the biggest and best EDM music festivals in the world, and it lived up to the hype. A trip that was planned by my friend Nick and I in less than 1 hour, back in March, after a failed attempt to go to Ultra on a one week notice. I’ve been dying to go to Tomorrowland/Tomorrowworld since 2013 and I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen the aftermovies. This left me with 7 months of anticipation of going to a place outside of Atlanta, Georgia for 3 days that was going to host …

Cliff Jumping Enders Falls | CT |

Looking for adventure close to home? Then look no further than Enders Falls in Granby, CT. After a few minutes googling where the nearest cliff jumping would be, I stumbled upon this location and an accompanying video. From that moment, I was hooked. I immediately sent out the message asking all my friends who would want to go jump off a +25ft cliff into water… and it wasn’t long before we were all piling into cars on that summer Saturday morning. We finally make it to the empty parking lot at the East Granby State Forest and headed into the …

Brownstone Adventure Park & Wakeboarding

Brownstone Adventure Park described in 2 words would be: Athletic Waterpark. It’s not your typical slides and pee-filled pools. From the minute you walk in the park gates, you have people flying over you on zip-lines. Brownstone Park was an old quarry turned water park circa 1999. I heard about this place when I googled wakeboarding in the area and found out that they had a cable park here also. So I dragged my friends down for a Saturday afternoon to go jump off things and get wet, they willingly obliged. They have everything you could want out of an …

Downhill Mountain Biking: Thunder Mountain Bike Park

Before this day, the extent of my mountain biking experience was a few steeper trails in Connecticut. And like you probably could have guessed, wasn’t that difficult of terrain. But hey! It looked like an awesome time and the expectation lived up to the experience! A few minutes on google leads me to a new mountain up in Massachusetts, Thunder Mountain Bike park at the Berkshire East Ski Resort. None of my friends had any interest in doing some lift-access mountain biking, when excuses ranged from, “I don’t have the right bike for it” to “It sounds dangerous and I …

Mount Washington Hike: Tallest in the Northeast

Mount Washington was not only my first experience in camping, but it was also my first real experience in hiking mountains. Sure, I’ve walked around in the hills of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, but those don’t even compare to the ones in Vermont and New Hampshire. In the middle of the night, we finally arrived at Dolly Copp Campground. With no cell service, it took us an hour to find our campsite in the dark where all our friends had already arrived. The whole camping thing was a brand new experience to me, but we were far from roughing it. …

Top Notch Triathlon: Up a Mountain

The Top Notch Triathlon, one of my favorite weekends of the year. A group of our friends drives up to the beautiful Pearl Lake in New Hampshire to stay for the weekend. The triathlon itself isn’t even the focal point of the weekend, but it is so much fun You’re probably wondering how the hell could a triathlon be fun. It’s a team tri, so only one person has to do each leg of the triathlon, but it’s just enough activity that we all consider ourselves Triathletes. My friends have been doing this for 6 years, and this was only …

First Experience: Shooting a Gun

I’ve never shot a gun before in my life… I know, I know, what kind of man am I. But growing up in New Jersey, it just never came up. So when my friend Brody asked me if I wanted to head to a shooting range that was close by, it was impossible to say no.  By the time I arrived at Hague’s Indoor Range, Brody had already checked out all the guns that we wanted to shoot and had everything set up. He was in the Army for a while and he loves to shoot guns, so needless to …

Spring Break in Cancun, Mexico

Cancun Mexico. Home of one of the most stereotypical spring break spots, ever since MTV began airing it back in the early 2000s. This was my 3rd and final spring break in college. We’d gone to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Nassau, Bahamas on our previous 2 spring breaks, but this was the one I would go out on! By this point I would consider myself an experienced guy on the party style spring breaks. Cancun was a whole new animal. People from around the globe flock to this tropical paradise by the sea for piece of the action. We met …

Preakness Infieldfest – Armin Van Buuren

Time to get Preaky! Each year thousands of college-age kids come together at the Pimlico Race Track outside Baltimore, MD to get a little taste of the mix between high class horse racing and one of the biggest parties of the year. On my way down, I picked up two of my friends in Philly, and we then headed down to B-more. We set our alarms bright and early for the next morning, which the girls were not too thrilled about in the least. We snagged an uber into the race track which ended up being a great choice since …
