After 8 years, I finally made it to the last of the real mountain towns in the West, Telluride, Colorado. In my opinion, Telluride is the closest we can get to a European town in the Alps. Quite literally at the dead end of a box canyon, surrounded by walls of the San Juan mountains, piercing the sky. With snowfields and glaciers covering the summits.
